#7 Golden Gate Bridge (Without Karl)

In November of 2021, my wife and I took a trip to see San Francisco for the first time.  Yes, it was during Covid, and we had to wear a mask nearly everywhere when we were inside. But I work in healthcare, and my wife works in education. So mask wearing was the norm for our jobs at that time. We didn't let it ruin our fun.

San Francisco was delightful.  We rode the trolleys, we saw the sights, and we got to tour around with my cousin, Robert, who was living there at that time.  He also enjoyed photography and took us to some beautiful locations.

One thing we had expected was the San Francisco Bay fog.  I understand people even gave it a name, Karl.  It was a particularly dry period, and we didn’t see Karl show up the entire week we spent in the city.  This made for some beautiful skies at sunset.  This photo was from the day we spent with Robert and got to see the Golden Gate Bridge highlighted with a colorful sky.

Sometimes, or many times if I'm honest with myself, I expect what life will bring or what I will see and experience. But beauty doesn't always come the way we expected. Life isn't as predictable as we would sometimes like it to be. If we look for the delights we didn't expect, we might be blessed to see something new.

I never got to meet Karl, but we did enjoy some pretty spectacular weather and views.  Maybe someday I’ll get to go back and enjoy some photography with the fog.  But for now, I’m happy to remember our magical, sunny time by the Bay!

Open your eyes to see the wonders all around you!
