The San Antonio Riverwalk is a fun place to visit. This colorful stretch is probably photographed by many people every year. I was walking along with my camera just exploring what sights I could find. When I turned around, the scene filled my eyes! I love a full palette of colors. While I prepared my camera for the shot, I noticed a mother duck followed by her fairly grown ducklings. Their appearance seemed to add that special little pizzazz for my photo!
If you look closely, you can see a person standing under the far left blue umbrella. They appear to be taking a photo of the ducks. Now I enjoy photographing animals from time to time. But there was so much more to see and photograph than ducks in that spot. I realize the person was standing on the opposite side of the river and couldn't see what I saw. They knew they were standing under brightly colored umbrellas, but I don't think they even noticed the reflection of the umbrellas in the water. They had a different vantage point. Perhaps the cement walkway I was traversing made for a nice backdrop to the ducks. But I think I got to see and photograph the more beautiful sight.
It's a good reminder to me. Keep looking for new and different vantage points. You might miss the most beautiful sights if you don't walk around and look up a little. So get your face away from that cell phone. Look up. Look around. You might find some photo opportunities you never expected.
Open your eyes to see the wonders all around you!
